The concept maker
In June 1997, an idea was born in the former monastery garden of St. Georgen which would completely change Folke Tegetthoff’s life: the idea of creating the first theme park on the theme of listening: music and sound, noises and notes – SounTopia – Land of Sound and Music. From this day onwards until 2002, he dedicated himself to the realisation of this project.
1999: Founding of Wonderworld of Music (WWoM) GmbH
2000: Sale of 80% of the shares to investors (Siemens, Telekom, STRABAG–Bauholding AG and 5 private investors).
2000: Four-month study visit in the USA to develop the first master plan with one of the world’s best project developers Jack Rouse (Cincinnati).
2002: Contract signed for a plot of land near Salzburg.
2002: STRABAG BAUHOLDING take over 90% of the shares of WWOM GmbH, 10% still belong to Folke Tegetthoff.
2002: Commission for the design of adventure facilities for a castle in Upper Austria.
1990: Founding of Edition Neues Maerchen Verlags GmbH publishing house.
1995: Founding of Wonderworld LLC, Louisville, KY, USA.
2002: Founding of Wonderworld of Words GmbH. (as 100% subsidiary of Edition Neues Maerchen GmbH, which from now on only acts as a limited company to manage intellectual property rights).
